Our first time eating Chinese food in Santa Cruz and they deliver. It was really good, fresh and flavorful. I will continue to order from them every visit.

I HATE writing bad reviews now... since the impact of our reviews really do impact the businesses. That being said though, I can't be anything more then honest with my experience today.

I ordered from their website for delivery (which was VERY user friendly), but when the order was submitted it said I would get a confirmation email... which I still haven't gotten. I ended up calling the restaurant 5 minutes after I placed the order, just to make sure they really got it, and I didn't just give my credit card info to a scam website.

Delivery wasn't too long, so that was nice. I ordered wonton soup, dumplings in spicy sauce, garlic eggplant and walnut shrimp. For some reason the shrimp or eggplant didn't come with rice? Weird.

The dumplings sauce tastes amazing, but they are very overcooked and almost tough. The coating on the shrimp is soggy (most places I've ordered it from comes back still crispy and delicious). The noodles in the soup are all overcooked and falling apart. The eggplant is ok, not spectacular, but not horrible either.

All in all, I don't think I will be going to them again... sadness. I love dumplings in spicy sauce.

Not authentic Chinese food if that's what you're looking for. I'm giving Phoenix two stars because the spicy poached fish filet was its saving grace. Tip, order off their Chef's special menu if you want food that more authentic. Otherwise, stick to their combinations- those seem to be popular among customers. I might give their student lunch special a try sometime.

+/- Poached Fish Filet: Could be spicier but tasted similar to authentic spicy fish filet I've had in San Jose. The chili oil was a bit too salty but otherwise, it was hands down the best dish of the night.
    $12.99

    - Mapo Tofu: I really don't think this could be called Mapo Tofu. It's literally soft tofu stirred in some sort of bland 'spicy' sauce. The whole dish was bland and is definitely not Mapo Tofu by any means. It also had green peas and carrots??
    $8.99

    - Hunan Beef: This dish is supposed to be spicy and it was also given a chili pepper symbol on their menu. Yet, it's coated in some sort of sweet sesame sauce. The worst part- the beef was first fried, then sauteed in the sauce...
    $12.99

    - Original Milk Tea: The tea was fine... way too sweet and milky- not enough tea flavor. The boba was worse than Quickly's- and that's saying something. It was hard to chew through the boba.
    $3.29

You order white rice on the side ($1.50/bowl). Overall, for three people it ended up being around $60, after tip. I don't think it was worth it at all, so my search for good Chinese food in Santa Cruz continues.

Ordered over the phone with no issues, fast and friendly pick up. The portions were generous in size. However, I do think the flavor could be better, especially for the price. I ordered rice, egg rolls, and chicken with broccoli. The chicken with broccoli lacked flavor; it was bland and under seasoned. Also the broccoli to chicken ratio was way off. Egg rolls were kinda soggy.

Awful waisted my money Mongolian beef was same as my cashew shrimp .. both where a vegetable mix cubed oh and the shrimp was substituted for very dry pork without being told ... miserable delivery experience
